Job Title: Project Trainee
Job Summary
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Project Trainee. The Project Trainee position is part of a PennDOT sponsored training program. No prior construction experience necessary. We will train the selected candidate on various aspects of the construction industry. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Main Responsibilities
· Work with mentor to learn various construction positions including laboring
· Work with mentor to learn/understand and put into practice all safety policies and procedures
Education
· No previous education required
Skills
· Ability to use equipment properly and safely
· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
· Must have an acceptable safety record and be committed to working safely
· Overtime as required
· Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
· Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment
· Independent work ethic and professional, positive attitude
· Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
· Must have reliable transportation to the job site
Physical Requirements
· Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
· Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
· Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
· Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
· Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
· Frequent exposure to loud noise
· Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
· Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
· Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, overtime as required
· Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
· Proven track record working safely
· Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
